The Big Pine Warriors won the last time they faced the Owens Valley Cubs, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Big Pine walked away with a 40-29 victory over the Cubs. Big Pine pushed the score to 40-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cubs cut but never quite recovered from.
Big Pine found their leader in underclassman Adam Miller, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Miller has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Damien Hottendorf, who scored six points.
Owens Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Drake Martinez and Kevin Glenn. Martinez scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists, while Glenn scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Big Pine and bumps their season record up to 5-8. As for Owens Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Big Pine and the Golden Eagles will face off at 5:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lone Pine is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road. As for Owens Valley, they will take on the Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Immanuel Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.5 points per game this season.
