Niles North has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. Having just played yesterday, they will jump right back in to play Milwaukee Academy of Science at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Friday, Niles North really took it to Maine East for the full four quarters, racking up a 85-47 win at home. Given Niles North's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while Maine East is ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Milwaukee Academy of Science scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 106-72 win over Yorkville Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Niles North pushed their record up to 22-6 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.4 points. As for Milwaukee Academy of Science, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
