The Conway Springs Cardinals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 35-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Collegiate. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Conway Springs of the 41-27 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2021.
Conway Springs' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Melissa Ebenkamp, who scored 12 points along with six steals. That was a full 38.7% of Conway Springs' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Haylee Osner, who scored six points.
Conway Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Collegiate, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-8-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conway Springs will take on Kingman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Collegiate, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mulvane on Tuesday.
