Owensboro Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karmin Riley, who shot 43% from the field en route to 18 points. Riley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Aubrey Randolph was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Meade County unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Breckinridge County by a score of 51-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Green Waves have suffered since January 3rd.
Owensboro Catholic will have to contain Peyton Bradley as she made an impact in Meade County's last game. She went 6-for-15 to rack up 21 points and three steals. That was a full 42.9% of Meade County's points, marking the tenth time in a row Bradley has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Rider, who had ten points.
Meade County's loss dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Owensboro Catholic, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-6.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Owensboro Catholic hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 64.2 points per game. However, it's not like Meade County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 56.3 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Owensboro Catholic beat Meade County 68-60 when the teams last played back in February. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Bradley, who shot 60% from beyond the arc on her way to 31 points along with eight boards and seven assists.
