Upsala has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Verndale Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Upsala ended up a good deal behind the Tigers and lost 62-48. Upsala has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Upsala's loss came about despite a quality game from Brenna Graves, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three games, Verndale finally came back down to earth on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 67-18 loss at the hands of Menahga. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Verndale has scored all season.
Upsala's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Verndale, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.
Upsala was able to grind out a solid win over the Pirates in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 64-54. Will Upsala repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
