Jacob Lafferty continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sparta, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Lafferty has scored at least 25% of Sparta's points. Another player making a difference was Walker Loveland, who scored six points.
This is the second loss in a row for Carthage and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Sparta, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Carthage will take on Bishop LeBlond in a holiday battle at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Sparta is on the road again on Monday and play against Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th. Forsyth is on a four-game streak of home wins, Sparta a eight-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
