The Hurricane Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 92-62 defeat at the hands of Pine View. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (60), Hurricane still had to take the loss.
Hurricane's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Houston Homer, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Homer has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Mccauley, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Nash Schroeder was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals for Pine View. Schroeder hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Griffen Shepherd was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds.
Hurricane has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Pine View, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Hurricane will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Pine View, they will head out on the road to take on Desert Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Desert Hills is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
