Pinelands Regional strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Manasquan Warriors. That three run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.
Elianna Meola spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Jozlyn Peterson was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Madison Wilbert also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Pinelands Regional pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinelands Regional will face off against Howell at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Manasquan, they will square off against Toms River North at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
