Gabrielle Hughes and Skylar Young made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Hughes tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Young tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. At the plate, Hughes went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Young went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Young has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lila Riggan, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayden Stone, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

North Florida Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. St. John Paul II has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like North Florida Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts.
