Quinn Redwine made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cash Garrett, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lewis Dunn, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Meanwhile, Henrico was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 14-3 to Highland Springs.
Maggie Walker's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Henrico, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
