Baseball Recap: South Summit Find Success

South Summit hadn't done well against Judge Memorial Catholic recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Wildcats walked away with an 11-7 win over the Bulldogs. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 10-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Hunter Bednerik was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Will Broadhead was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Calvin Loftus was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory made it two in a row for South Summit and bumps their season record up to 7-14. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.

As of now, neither South Summit nor Judge Memorial Catholic have any future games scheduled.
