Softball Recap: Cleveland Has No Trouble Against Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons

Cleveland won against Madelia on Saturday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Everything went the Clippers' way against Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons as they made off with a 17-0 win. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Clippers yet this season.

Delaney Thompson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Keira Schipper was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Kaitlyn Flowers was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Cleveland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.2.

Cleveland's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
