Basketball Game Preview: UR Academy Lions vs. Kingdom Leadership Academy Chargers

Having just played yesterday, the UR Academy Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Kingdom Leadership Academy Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. UR Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season.

UR Academy took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They slipped by Riverwalk Academy 66-65.

Jordan Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 14 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brysen Parker, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds.

UR Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Kingdom Leadership Academy played a tough match last Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Providence Classical, falling 48-28. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Chargers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Paladins are ranked 564th).

The victory got UR Academy back to even at 8-8. As for Kingdom Leadership Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

UR Academy couldn't quite finish off Kingdom Leadership Academy in their previous matchup on January 3rd and fell 54-52. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kingdom Leadership Academy's Jacob Hellmann, who posted 24 points. Now that UR Academy knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
