The Liberty Chargers fell victim to the Lake Wales Highlanders''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 50-0 defeat at the hands of the Highlanders. While losing is never fun, Liberty can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 457th, while Lake Wales is ranked 44th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Wales to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brycen Levidiotis, who threw for 118 yards and two touchdowns. A'ssiah Williams did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 29 receiving yards.
Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lake Wales, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will take on Lake Region at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Region is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Lake Wales, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Auburndale at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Auburndale is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
