A District 2 recap October 1, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Prairie Valley, who took down 96th ranked Newman Catholic, 14-7.
The Warriors moved up to 179 from 217 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in A District 2. Prairie Valley climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Knights 14-7.
Newman Catholic's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jack Fitzgerald has thrown for 369 yards and 3 touchdowns this season, while Kaden Wadle has 15 catches for 177 yards.
Two of the top teams in the league will go toe-to-toe this week when Newman Catholic takes on AGWSR. Mike Dirksen's team's offense has recorded 105 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Cougars have permitted only 26 on the year.
At the moment, the Knights are in fifth, while AGWSR is in first.
Skip Eckhardt's team added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Southeast Webster-Grand, 41-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
