Two Rivers recap November 19, 2013
University extended the longest winning streak in Two Rivers this week by beating Morgantown, 9-3. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Hawks.
Wheeling Park took down South Charleston 55-34 last week, the largest margin of any game. Savion Johnson ran for 193 yards and caught 2 passes for 36 yards in the win.
The Patriots' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Zach Phillips threw for 172 and 2 touchdowns and Chalmer Moffett had 79 yards receiving. On the ground Johnson chipped in 193 yards. Eric Banks helped Wheeling Park's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 57 yards.
Johnson was a passing and rushing force as Wheeling Park bested the Black Eagles. Johnson's key target this week was Moffett, who caught 4 passes for 79 yards.
Johnson was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Geremy Paige added to the ground attack by rushing for 149 yards.
Wheeling Park's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Phillips has thrown for 1,703 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, while Banks has 40 catches for 756 yards.
University made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,377 from 1,836. The improvement was the result of a 9-3 victory over the Mohigans last week.
