The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Villa Grove just coasted through the last quarter.
Leading Villa Grove to victory were Layne Rund and Gunner Cline. Rund rushed for 46 yards and two touchdowns, while Cline rushed for 137 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. Cline is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Villa Grove's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] and 4-5 Arcola (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
