Softball Recap: Doyle Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Doyle and Ponchatoula, and Doyle kept the tradition alive. The Tigers put the hurt on the Green Wave with a sharp 19-2 victory on Monday. Considering the Tigers have won 20 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Doyle has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Ponchatoula, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-11.

Doyle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ponchatoula, they will square off against Northlake Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Green Wave's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
