Fulton and Oswego are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Red Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Bucs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fulton has five straight wins, Oswego has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Fulton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Port Byron on Friday.

Emma Spaulding made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Nadia Rose was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Oswego suffered their biggest loss since May 11, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 14-3 to Fayetteville-Manlius. Surprisingly, this marked the Bucs' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Fulton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Oswego, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Oswego's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Fulton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .333. It's a different story for Oswego, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Fulton's hitters?
Fulton came up short against Oswego when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 6-3. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
