It was a good run, but the St. Francis Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Glenbard South by a score of 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat St. Francis has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, St. Francis still got an impressive performance from Dolly Smith, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Smith continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Lynsey Cleveland was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Glenbard South, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
St. Francis will take on Glenbard West at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Glenbard South, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fenton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
