Brevard HEAT's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 60-30 loss at the hands of Innovation Montessori.
Among those leading the charge was Shalom Barnes, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Pedro Anselmo, who scored 15 points.
Brevard HEAT's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. As for Innovation Montessori, their victory bumped their record up to 2-11.
Brevard HEAT will head out on the road to take on Florida Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Florida Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Innovation Montessori won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Apopka Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 16th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Apopka Christian Academy is ranked 796th, while Innovation Montessori is ranked 789th).
