The Maryvale Panthers were the 59-29 winner over the Browne Bruins when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Maryvale took a 42-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bruins on Monday.
Despite the loss, Maryvale still got an impressive performance from Dalia Valdez, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 59.4% of Maryvale's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Maryvale's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Browne, their win ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-18.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Alhambra the next time they take the court. Maryvale will host the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bruins will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
