Florence and Ingram Moore are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Buffaloes will face off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Florence managed to slip by Blanco the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Buffaloes lost 7-0 to the Panthers on Friday.
Meanwhile, Ingram Moore waltzed into their match on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Yellowjackets. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Tyler Langbein spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.
On the hitting side, Logan Spalding was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Maverick Delgado was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Ingram Moore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Llano only posted an OBP of .154.
Ingram Moore pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Florence, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11-1 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Florence has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Ingram Moore struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Florence came up short against Ingram Moore when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 9-4. Can the Buffaloes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
