Basketball Recap: Lutheran-Northeast Falls Despite Big Games from Colston Kapels and D'artagnan Taylor

Lutheran-Northeast was the 51-30 winner over Plainview when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Lutheran-Northeast Eagles took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plainview Pirates on Saturday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lutheran-Northeast's loss came despite strong showings from D'Artagnan Taylor and Colston Kapels. Taylor went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points, while Kapels went 7 for 13 en route to 16 points. The matchup was Kapels' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian McDoanld, who posted five points.

Lutheran-Northeast now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Plainview, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lutheran-Northeast will be playing in front of their home fans against Boone Central at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Plainview, they will venture away from home to challenge Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
