The Northwood Timberwolves won against the Bonita Bearcats on Tuesday with 66 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Northwood walked away with a 66-59 win over Bonita. Given Northwood's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Bonita is ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Northwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zaid Yunis, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The game was Yunis' 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sidd Raj, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Northwood pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Bonita, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwood will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Troy on January 6, 2024. Bonita won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Arcadia at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th. Arcadia is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
