The Grand Saline Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They took a serious blow against Rains, falling 69-28. Grand Saline was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-18.
Rains found their leader in underclassman Presley Kilgore, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Kilgore has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Haley Robertson, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals.
Grand Saline has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-11 record this season. As for Rains, the victory (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 29-2.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Commerce the next time they take the court. Grand Saline will head out to face Commerce at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Rains will host them at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
