The Pickens Blue Flame put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Liberty at home to the tune of 83-28. Pickens' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Maggie Chambers, who scored 23 points along with six assists and six rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Pickens' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Owens, who scored 14 points along with nine assists.
Pickens pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Liberty, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Pickens will head out on the road to face off against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Pickens is ranked third). As for Liberty, they will be playing at home against Crescent at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
