The Muncie Central Bearcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Harrison Raiders at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Muncie Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, a fact Muncie Central proved. They managed a 53-48 victory over Pendleton Heights. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Muncie Central.
Brady McNabb had a dynamite game for Muncie Central, scoring 15 points along with five assists and three steals. Lj Strange was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Harrison pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 73-55 fall against Westfield. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Harrison in their matchups with Westfield: they've now lost six in a row.
The match pitted two dominant forwards against one another in Malachi King and Nic Book. Book had a solid game and scored ten points along with two steals. Meanwhile, King did his best for the losing side, scoring 13 points.
Muncie Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Harrison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Friday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Muncie Central have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 46.5% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Harrison struggles in that department as they've made 40.6% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Muncie Central skirted past Harrison 44-42 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Harrison's Ben Henderson, who scored 21 points. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Muncie Central to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
