The Bonner Springs Braves had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 77-69 victory over Ottawa. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Bonner Springs to victory were Kalen Streit and Jason Jones. Streit scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, while Jones scored 26 points along with three steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Rolfe jr., who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Bonner Springs is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Ottawa, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bonner Springs' road trip will continue as they head out to face De Soto at 7:15 p.m. on February 16th. As for Ottawa, they will square off against Baldwin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
