The Morgan Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Ogden Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Morgan had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Logan on Tuesday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 10-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won seven in a row.
Caleb Rhoades looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Tyson Talbot was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Owen Gilson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Morgan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Logan only managed six.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ogden). They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over Ben Lomond on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Lucas Bushell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple.
Morgan's record is now 11-7. As for Ogden, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 5-14.
Morgan came out on top in a nail-biter against Ogden in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
