If the Mendon Hornets were riding high off their 65-32 takedown of the Athens Indians last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mendon took a 70-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Philip Catholic Central on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

The match was Gorham's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Quincy Blair, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Mendon's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for St. Philip Catholic Central, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Mendon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Constantine at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. St. Philip Catholic Central will finish 2023 at home by hosting Union City at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Union City is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
