Astoria had a rough outing against Scappoose last Friday, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Astoria had just enough and edged out Stayton 22-19. The success represented a nice turnaround for Astoria, who in their last game suffered a tough 0-27 defeat.
The win got Astoria back to even at 1-1. The loss dropped Stayton's record to 0-2.
Astoria will stay at home next week against Estacada at 7:00 PM. Stayton will be staying on the road, facing off against Cottage Grove.
