With a playoff win on the line, Canby rose to the challenge on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Dallas Dragons 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Alli Hayzlett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Hayzlett wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kinsley Morrow, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. That's the most hits Morrow has posted since back in April of 2025.
Canby's win bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Dallas, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 28-8.
As of now, neither Canby nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
