Prospect and Lincoln are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Panthers will face off against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Prospect is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
Prospect will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Del Mar on Wednesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Dons with a sharp 13-2 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Dons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Kendall Tabora was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Dani Rauscher was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sadie Slaughter, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Prospect kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Del Mar only managed five hits.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Lincoln's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Los Altos.
Serenity Hernandez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Prospect pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
Prospect's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. The Panthers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lincoln, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Prospect continue to outrun the ball?
Prospect skirted past Lincoln 4-2 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
