After a string of four wins, the Twiggs County Cobras's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Wilkinson County 49-44. Twiggs County lost against Wilkinson County in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 109-62 score last time.
Twiggs County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tykerrion Williams, who scored 18 points, and Keyontae Rozier who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rozier has scored all season.
Twiggs County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Wilkinson County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Twiggs County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Toombs County at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th. Toombs County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 226 points over their last three matches. As for Wilkinson County, they will head out on the road to challenge Glascock County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Glascock County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
