The Wayne Hills Patriots were the 39-37 winner over the Jefferson Township Falcons when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Wayne Hills was the victim of a rough 52-27 loss at the hands of Jefferson Township on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wayne Hills has scored all season.
Jefferson Township's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cassidy Ball, who scored nine points along with six assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Weihmiller, who scored 11 points.
Wayne Hills' loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Jefferson Township, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Wayne Hills will be playing at home against West Milford at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Milford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 247th, while Wayne Hills is ranked 106th). As for Jefferson Township, they will head out on the road to face off against Morris County Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Morris County Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Jefferson Township likes a good challenge.
