The Homer Trojans's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 37-28 victory over Cortland. That's another feather in the cap for Homer, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Purple Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cal Albright, who scored eight points.
The victory got Homer back to even at 3-3. As for Cortland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Homer will take on Skaneateles at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for Cortland, they will head out on the road to face off against Carthage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
