The Benicia Panthers fell victim to the Northgate Broncos''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 36-0 loss at the hands of the Broncos. Benicia was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Owen Wittry threw for 87 yards on six of 12 attempts. Myles Cooper was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards. On the ground, Raymond Avila rushed for 40 yards.
Northgate's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jake Berger led the charge by rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, while also picking up 42 receiving yards. Ben Hosler and his 132 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Northgate's win.
Benicia's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Northgate, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-7.
Benicia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Northgate also has no future games currently scheduled.
