The Liberty Lightning lost against the Iowa City West Trojans back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Liberty fell 47-35 to the Trojans. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Liberty has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Liberty had strong showings from Jerimiah Washpun, who scored 13 points, and Gage Kampman, who scored eight points.
Liberty dropped their record down to 6-10 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Iowa City West, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will take on the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Iowa City West, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Iowa (Kennedy is ranked first, while the Trojans are ranked fourth).
