Harts Bluff has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Avinger Indians at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
Harts Bluff fought the good fight in their overtime game against Como-Pickton last Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.
Meanwhile, Avinger had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five last Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 45-27 win over Marshall Christian Academy.
Harts Bluff's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9. As for Avinger, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
Harts Bluff lost to Avinger on the road by a decisive 51-33 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Harts Bluff avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
