Westside has been on the road for four straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Winter Haven Blue Devils at 8:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Westside was able to grind out a solid win over Boiling Springs, taking the game 45-37. The win was just what Westside needed coming off of a 59-35 loss in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zeke Marshall, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Keemaj Clinkscales, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Winter Haven had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Auburndale 91-47 on the road. That 91-47 margin sets a new team best for Winter Haven this season.
Westside's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-4. As for Winter Haven, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
