Adding to the longest winning streak in II Section VII this week, Chaparral beat Marcos de Niza 35-21. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Firebirds.
Chaparral led the league in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on the Padres. Sean Paul Brophy threw for 266 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 23 yards in the win.
David Huffine's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Elijah Castro contributed 98 yards. Trevor Wood helped Chaparral's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 55 yards.

Paradise Valley's Daniel Bridge-Gadd and Jordan Brown have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Bridge-Gadd has thrown for 2,385 yards this season, while Brown has 66 catches for 940 yards. Chaparral's Castro leads the league in rushing yards with 1,243.
Max Vankempen has rushed for 972 yards on 141 carries so far this year.
The Firebirds' Simpson needs only 91 receiving yards against Mesquite to crack 1,000 for the season. So far this year, he has acheived 70 catches for 909 yards.
