Carroll's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jillian Salts, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards, and Emily Justice, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Salts also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Mady Isley was another key player, putting up six points.
Meanwhile, Rossville didn't have too much trouble with Frontier on Friday as they won 52-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.
Carroll better focus on containing Ava Burkle and Allie Elliott as the pair were huge in Rossville's win. Burkle dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Elliott earned 13 points and seven boards. Burkle is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games she's played. Madilyn Seest also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.
Rossville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.
Carroll's record now sits at 17-7. As for Rossville, their record now sits at 16-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Carroll has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Rossville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Carroll couldn't quite finish off Rossville when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 36-33. Can Carroll avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
