It was a good run, but the Terrell County Greenwave unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 48-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lee County. Terrell County has struggled against Lee County recently, as their match on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Terrell County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tadreuna Rogers. Despite the final result, she scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Jamariana Smith, who scored eight points.
Lee County was led to victory by Bayyinah Citlak and Taliyah Porter. Citlak dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Porter dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. The match was Citlak's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Millsaps, who scored three points along with ten rebounds.
Terrell County's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for Lee County, their victory bumped their record up to 1-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Westover the next time they take the court. Lee County will host Westover at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Terrell County will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
