Vinton County is 8-2 against River Valley since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Vinton County Vikings will be home for the holidays to greet the River Valley Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Vinton County is out to stop a 11-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Vinton County fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Alexander on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Spartans 45-41.
Meanwhile, River Valley earned a 64-51 win over Wellston on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back wins for River Valley.
Vinton County's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for River Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Vinton County came up short against River Valley in their previous meeting back in January, falling 49-45. Can Vinton County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
