Softball Recap: Mifflinburg Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Mifflinburg won the last time they faced Central Columbia and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats blew past the Bluejays 15-1. Considering the Wildcats have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Taylor Stewart was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Stewart was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Brooke Gessner was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Keister, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Mifflinburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .543. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Mifflinburg pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Central Columbia, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
