The Glencliff Colts will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Pearl-Cohn Firebirds at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Glencliff is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Glencliff came up short against Pickett County and fell 64-54. While losing is never fun, Glencliff can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Pickett County is ranked 93rd).
Meanwhile, Pearl-Cohn had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 61-47 win over Brainerd on Friday.
Glencliff's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Pearl-Cohn, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Glencliff suffered a grim 73-53 defeat to Pearl-Cohn in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. Can Glencliff avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
