Athol and Greenfield are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2014, but not for long. The Athol Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Greenfield Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenfield took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Athol, who comes in off a win.
The third road contest was the charm for Athol, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against Mahar Regional by a score of 26-16 on Friday.
Athol's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sawyer Lefsyk led the charge by rushing for 175 yards while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Raydin Sousa was another key contributor, picking up 135 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Greenfield wound up with the same score they had in their last game (14-7), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Athol now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Greenfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Athol didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Greenfield in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, but they still walked away with a 6-0 win. Will Athol repeat their success, or does Greenfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
