Softball Recap: Albany Has No Trouble Against Springfield

Albany won the last time they faced Springfield and things went their way on Tuesday too. Albany put the hurt on Springfield with a sharp 11-1 win. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Albany is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Looking ahead, Albany will welcome Sumner at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springfield, they will venture away from home to face off against Bogalusa at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bogalusa has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 23.5 runs per game on average), something Springfield will no doubt try to take advantage of.
