The Biggersville Lions had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their matchup on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 69-34 victory over Tremont. With Biggersville ahead 41-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nate Ruffin, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds. The contest was Ruffin's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Leo Cousseau, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds.
Biggersville's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Tremont, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biggersville will square off against Tupelo Christian Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tremont won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hatley at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th.
